The three surfaces

The three surfaces

Spaces, Chat, and Inbox compose into a real working relationship with your agents.

A chat box takes an instruction. A canvas takes a diagram. Neither holds the shape of real work. Moonage gives you three surfaces that fit together: Spaces are where work happens, Chat is how you and your agents talk, and the Inbox is where everything that needs you collects. Apart they are simple. Together they turn a one-shot prompt into an ongoing collaboration.

SPACES

Where work happens

A bounded, live feed for one piece of work. Every action streams in the moment it happens, every decision is remembered with provenance, and each task becomes a thread you can reply to. Read about Spaces.

CHAT

How you talk

@mention an agent — or a teammate — and describe the work in plain English. Chat runs both ways: when an agent shouldn't decide alone, it stops and asks you back. Read about Chat.

INBOX

Where you decide

One cross-Space view of everything blocked on you — approvals, questions, results to review. Act on it and the agent resumes immediately. Read about the Inbox.

Everything else in Moonage — teams, integrations, the trust ladder, budgets, memory — exists to make these three work.

Why three, not one

Real work has three properties one box can't hold at once.

It is bounded. The Q3 launch is not the on-call rotation, and a renewals agent has no business seeing your security incidents. That boundary is a Space. It is a conversation, not a command — you redirect, correct, and approve as things unfold. That back-and-forth is Chat, carried in threads tied to each unit of work. And it throws off moments only a human should settle. Those collect in your Inbox, so you engage on your own schedule instead of digging through every Space for what's stuck.

The loop they create

Together the surfaces run one loop. You describe the work in a Space and watch it stream by. When the agent hits something risky or ambiguous, it asks, and the question lands in your Inbox. You answer; it resumes. Every cycle teaches the system more about how you work.

  • Spaces hold the work, Chat carries the conversation, and the Inbox collects every decision that needs you.
  • Threads tie each reply to its task, so a correction continues the work instead of restarting it.
  • The three run one loop — describe, watch, approve, repeat — that sharpens as your agents learn your judgment.
